You can take Bio-K+ probiotics at any time of day, either with or without food. We encourage you to find your own rhythm when taking Bio-K+ products.

Don't mix your probiotic with warm food and do not cook it. The bacteria are sensitive to heat.

It's always recommended to consult a health care professional before using a new supplement such as probiotics. In theory, you can not take too much probiotics, the intestinal transit should eliminate unnecessary bacteria. Our bacterial strains are transient and don't stay in the gut for a long period of time. However, it's always better to start the intake of probiotics more gradually and monitor your wellbeing.

Benefits of Bio-K+ will take place in the intestines to support the gastrointestinal health.

The number of probiotics contained in a product is specific to the strains included and is a key, but not the only factor to take into consideration while to supporting wellbeing.

If you are taking medications, you should always consult your health care professional before taking a supplement.

Adults, adolescents and children (6 years and older), take 1-2 delayed-release capsules (Antibio Pro capsules) once daily during the antibiotic treatment and 5 days after the treatment.

The Everyday Wellness capsules and more recently the PRO line capsules are produced using modern technology and packaging that ensures the survivability of the live bacteria. The potency of Bio-K+ capsules is guaranteed until the expiration date and do not require refrigeration. These capsules have optimized stability due to the desiccant sachet contained in each bottle. It keeps the product dry and stable and assures capsules have their full potency until the expiration date. We recommend keeping the desiccant sachet in the bottle!

Bio-K+ drinkable probiotics' bacetrial count is guaranteed until the best before date if the product is refrigerated. They can be kept out of the fridge for a maximum of 24 hours. The product will still be edible and effective; however, we cannot guarantee the number of bacteria until the best before date and the taste will be more acid and the texture lumpier.

We do not recommend freezing BioK + products. Bio-K + capsules have to be refrigerated or kept at room temperature at all time.

For the drinkable probiotics, we strongly advise against freezing them. The freezing process will significantly affect the bacterial viability as well as the taste and texture of the product. In order to ensure optimal bioactivity, we recommend you store the drinkable probiotics in the refrigerator. This way, you will be sure to consume drinkable, high-quality probiotics.

The bacterial count is guaranteed until the expiration date stated on the packaging. Once the date has passed, the amount of bacteria will decrease and we can no longer insure the quality and effectiveness of the products. For our drinkable probiotics, the taste and texture will change; the product will be more tart (due to the production of lactic acid by our bacteria) and lumpier. The bacterial count will decrease gradually after the best before date.

The Bio-K+ Everyday Wellness line (drinkable probiotics) contains 50 billion CFU, the Specialized Wellness line (Bio-K+ Extra drinkable probiotics) contains 80 billion CFU and the Bio-K+ Active Shots contain 12.5 billion CFU

We suggest adults consume one bottle per day to get the full benefits from the added ingredients. You can also start more gradually if you are just starting using probiotics, as each bottle contains a considerable number of probiotics! Once opened, drinkable bottles can be kept for up to 7 days as long as they are well closed and refrigerated. The bottle can be closed using a free lid available in your favorite retailer's fridge, or you can use plastic film.

Our Spacialized Wellness (Bio-K+ Extra drinkable probiotics) are made of fermented oats and pumpkin seeds. It does indeed have a more liquid texture than other Bio-K+ drinkable products with dairy or soy. Fermented oats and pumpkin seeds produce a much thinner texture than dairy for instance.

Capsules are suitable for individuals aged 6 and up, but they have to be able to swallow the capsule.

We recommend that you do not open Bio-K+ capsules. All capsules feature delayed release technology to protect the probiotic bacteria and ensure they are only deployed after reaching the intestinal tract. Opening the capsule eliminates this protection and we cannot guarantee that bacteria will make it to the intestinal tract alive.

The probiotic material in our powders and capsules is usually white or off-white. Occasionally, the color of our probiotic capsules may change, and in some cases, the powder may take on an orange or pink hue, due to interactions of the ingredients used to make them. These variations are considered normal occurences and may arise from different ingredients and storage conditions for each product. These color differences do not indicate that the probiotic is spoiled or that their efficacy has been diminished.

It is possible that you may notice some discoloration inside the bottle caps. We want to assure you that this is a normal occurrence and does not affect the quality or safety of the product. The discoloration is due to a recent change in the glue and liner used in the bottle caps. Extensive testing has confirmed that there is no contamination. All products meet our strict quality standards and are safe for consumption.

By opting for the Spacialized Wellness line (Extra drinkable probiotics) you get more probiotic bacteria than in the Everyday Wellness line (80 billion comparatively to 50 billion) and you benefit from active ingredients scientifically studied for their effects on immune function and cogntive function such as Wellmune ®, Cereboost ®.

The Bio-K+ IBS Pro product format is designed for diarrhea-predominant IBS. This product contains 30 capsules unlike the Bio-K+ 50B AntioPro which contains 15 capsules. Indeed the suggested consumption in the case of diarrhea-predominant IBS is 2 capsules daily. Bio-K+ IBS Pro should be taken on a daily and long-term basis and not sporadically. The 50B (AntibioPro) capsules are better suited for a specific need over a short period of time such as an antibiotic treatment.
