No-Bake Oatmeal: Banana, Blueberry and Vanilla

The significant role our microbiota (aka intestinal bacterial flora) plays in our health is greater than ever thanks to scientific advances showing its role in our overall health and disease prevention.

Throughout life, we may encounter certain “microbiota disruptors”, such as viruses, antibiotics, junk food, excessive amounts of animal proteins, and various other contaminants. When this happens, we need to replenish our gut bacteria with a high-quality probiotic, like a daily dose of Bio-K+. Because life can be hectic, we asked nutritionist Andréanne Martin to give us a simple recipe that nourished our bacteria (and bellies) but requires very little prep. This No-Bake Banana Blueberry Oatmeal comes together in minutes, contains probiotics, fibre and antioxidants, and is ready for you right when you wake up in the morning.

Ingredients

83 ml (1/3 cup) oatmeal

60 ml (1/4 cup) oat bran

15 ml (1 tbsp.) chia seeds

1/3 banana, sliced

30 ml (2 tbsp.) frozen blueberries

15 ml (1 tbsp.) crushed walnuts

1 bottle of Vanilla Bio-K+

2/3 cup unsweetened soy beverage

 

Instructions

Combine the ingredients in a mason jar in the order indicated above.

Shake vigorously and refrigerate overnight.

Serve and enjoy!

 

Tip

For a vegan version, do not hesitate to use Bio-K+ Blueberry, made from fermented organic brown rice!
